Father’s Day is right around the corner. What do you get the guy who has everything? Here is the shortlist that, as a dad myself (who is into guns), are things that are always welcome gifts from the people who love me.

I have used my own EDC flashlight on multiple different occasions, and if I have to be away from home at night I make sure it is on my person. There are many good options out there like those from Streamlight and Nightstick, or the JM4 Tactical EDC Flashlight.

I personally try to get a light that has at least 100 lumens with a decent throw (meaning that it can light up things a little further away).

Tough Watch

I’m a big advocate for wearing a watch. When you’ve got a watch on it prevents you from having to look at your phone to see what time it is.

There are several different companies out there offering up tough watch options ranging from the Casio G-Shock and Luminox to the MTM or Smith and Bradly companies. You may spend a few hundred bucks, but it’s something that should hopefully last a lifetime.

More Ammo

Hopefully obvious is that if your dad is into guns, chances are good that he’s going to the range and using up his ammo. What better way to show your love for your old man than to supply him with a few boxes of his favorite range or self-defense ammunition?

There are tons of excellent places to buy from, ranging from your local big box or FFL to any of the online retailers. If you don’t know what his favorite ammo is (or if you don’t know what caliber he shoots) then a gift card may be the next best thing.

Spare Magazines

I have the opinion that you can never have too many spare magazines for any of the guns you have. I’m not a betting man, but if I was, I’d wager that your dad has a similar opinion. Most of us do.

The primary reason for this is that the magazine is often a weak point for the gun and one that can cause certain types of malfunctions to happen. Having a few extra mags goes a long way to keeping a firearm running properly.

Plus, in this SHTF world we’re barreling toward, it’s a good idea to have things like this because you just never know what sits on the horizon.

New Holster
