Shooting at Louisiana Gun Store

Two injured and three are dead in a shooting
at Jefferson Gun Outlet in Metairie, Louisiana, close to 3 pm on Saturday,
February 20, 2021. The shooting occurred
after a clerk requested a customer to holster his loaded firearm until he
entered the range.

Police received a call and arrived on scene
after the shooting. The shooter was neutralized by the patrons of Jefferson Gun Outlet.

According to a statement made by Sheriff Joseph Lopinto of the Jefferson Parish
Sheriff’s Office, “Arriving Deputies located several victims suffering from
gunshot wounds. Three individuals were pronounced dead on the scene, and two
more were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The two transported
victims are in stable condition.”

The Sheriff also included in his statement that, “The suspect is one of the
deceased on the scene.”
